Is a User Guide for intranets downloadable?
The FAQ of FAQ's has a User Guide as FAQ-O-Matic list see
(Xref) Users' Guide.

How can you obtain it as initial help system for an intranet?
Mind that mirroring is a bit difficult due to the nature of intranets,
You *can* make http requests outside, probably through
a proxy.

One approach would be to mirror the site from an internet
connected machine, then move that mirror (physically, with a disk or FTP) to
another machine inside the intranet, and plug it in as the item/ files
in a fresh faq.

Another approach would be to modify the mirrorClient code to use the
Perl HTTP.pm family of modules, which may be able to handle going through
a proxy.

Finally, some day, planning is to ship the users guide and some on-line
help with the system. But that'll be a while.
