Thanks Jon for this great software. We are using it in conjunction with our servers for web-based and web-assisted courses offered at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. It is easy to integrate with the course software "TopClass".
The Peanuts-Archive handles the NEXTSTEP/OpenStep FAQ in a traditional form. It converted it to Faq-O-Matic and added additional support for a public FAQ and information system. The Peanuts-Archive can be found at http://www.peanuts.org/ and is commited to technologies by Apple and NeXT (NEXTSTEP/OpenStep/MacOS-X, WebObjects, EOF, ...) The FAQ tries to fit all categories related to the archive and the Usenet community.

I'm using Faq-O-Matic to provide information to clients about their system setups on various machines. That makes it much easier for them to solve the easy problems on their own, and my backup to take over when I go on vacation. Or so the theory goes....
Unfortunately, that also means the systems are protected, so you don't get to look at it :-(
Avery House is a new residence hall at Caltech, without the strong student government that exists in the undergraduate houses. The autonomous nature of the social structures seems particularly well-matched to the Faq-O-Matic's maintenance model.

In 1998, I graduated from Caltech and moved out of Avery House. I no longer maintain the web page. (RCY, 21 Jan 2001)

Excellent!

Now trying it for the MiniVend FAQ at http://www.minivend.com/cgi-bin/fom -- thanks! Postcard en route.

The Audi Quattro mailing list(The QList) has a Faq-O-Matic known as the "QFOM." Created in hopes of providing a comprehensive listing of information for Audi owners concerning troubleshooting, repair, performance, and general advice; a "knowledge database" more than a FAQ. The secondary hope was to cut down on the Qlist's 100-200 messages/day volume... The QFOM is accessable at: http://quattro.malebolge.com/cgi-bin/fom
I'm proud to present that we plan to use FAQ-O-Matic for... well... I don't know it all yet since it's SOOO useful. But as an internet provider I want to build an 'automatic support page' for our users. The machine is on http://Yikes.tolna.net/cgi-bin/fom but since it's Hungarian (thanks to the great internationalisation possibilities in the engine) most of you won't understand a word. :-) The program is excellent.

Other interesting FAQ-O-Matic is http://mlf.linux.rulez.org/cgi-bin/fom, this is Hungarian as well, and it's the Hungarian Linux Users' FAQ. Growing each day.

Surf South uses it to manage their NetOps info page. It's a swell way to keep the customers up-to-date about network events, eh?

My internal support group is using the Faq-O-Matic to build a set of operations, practices, standards, and policies pages to help us educate our newly hired sys admins. Of course, it also makes a good reference document for the existing sys admins as well.

Faq-O-Matic will likely be my savior from our old poorly disguised (initially) gopher-based help system. Comparing the old (http://zima.cae.wisc.edu/help/) to the new (http://www.cae.wisc.edu/faq/) makes you realize how badly it was needed.

At the University of Kent at Canterbury (http://www.ukc.ac.uk/), we're using the Faq-o-matic as an FAQ for our internal newsgroup ukc.misc. Since there has never been an offical faq from the university the students created on to avoid all the obvious questions, and this has been a brilliant way to get all the students involved in adding their own contributions. This is especially useful as the misc.cabal are not particularly fond of the work that goes into producing a traditional-style faq.
I, personally, am also thinking of using it for project purposes next year.
A postcard is on the way!

Our development group wanted some way to collect errata for an upcoming product. I downloaded Faq-O-Matic, looked at its install FAQ, and 15 minutes later had it online on our Engineering server. I showed the errata (in Faq-O-Matic) to the technical support manager so he could properly support the product. He said "Wow! We've got a site dedicated to backup and recovery (http://www.backupcentral.com), and have dedicated a FAQ-O-Matic to each of the major backup products. The wonderful thing that is if someone wants a FAQ about XYZ, I can set it up, make them the administrator, and tell them to let me know when it's ready for prime time. Once it's ready, I put a link to it on the site. I used to maintain two FAQs manually. Both and I the users of the FAQ LOVE this much better.
I was asked to take over the Autoharp FAQ. Rather than adopting all the old HTML, I installed a copy of Faq-O-Matic. I registered 'faqcentral.net' and created the faq-o-matic on http://autoharp.faqcentral.net.

The FAQ will (at least at first) be on my Linux box on a dsl connection.

Testing out the FAQ-O-Matic for a potential knowledge base for our helpdesk.
Hi tanks for a great job we are going to try faq-o-Matics in our site http://www.to-do-mba.com
Have used this with great success for the help system on Register4Less.com. Makes it easy for customers to find answers to most things they need so the techs generally only have to deal with more involved questions.
