| - Automatic maintenance was not always running on all systems, because the http
request to invoke the maintenance script through the web server wasn't getting
flushed.

| - AuthLocal.pm, originally meant to factor out just what's needed to implement a
local name/password authentication scheme, now actually does that -- it's one
function that takes two arguments (name, password) and returns a boolean.
The 'set a new password' links are still deeply hard-coded. I imagine most
people with a local authentication scheme will want to hide those links
altogether.
